Youth Ministries

"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity." (1 Timothy 4:12)

Mouzon United Methodist Church Youth Ministry Mission Statement

Mouzon United Methodist Church’s Youth Ministry program seeks to intentionally and creatively involve youth in grades 6-12 in all aspects of our church’s ministry through service, study, prayer, worship, and fellowship.  By engaging in this ministry dynamic, Mouzon UMC recognizes that "youth ministry" is not simply done "to" or "for" youth on Sunday mornings or evenings, but rather youth ministry happens whenever and wherever young people are engaged as partners in the ministry of the Church.

While our ministry concentrates on the young people themselves, we recognize that all "youth" ministry is done in the context of families.  Thus, our ministry gives attention to the education, support, and nurture of parents of teens in an increasingly complex world.  Our ministry seeks to connect our young people to the larger church family, offering them a chance to develop significant relationships with people older and younger than themselves.

Mouzon's Youth Ministry is based on 5 foundational elements:

1.      To call young people to be disciples of Jesus Christ

2.      To respond to the needs and interests of young people

3.      To work together in partnership with the Mouzon church family

4.      To connect our youth with the larger United Methodist Church, community, and world.

5.      To include all young people through personal witness and outreach and personal invitation to belong to the community of faith.

Youth ministries at Mouzon extend beyond Sunday School and Sunday night Youth fellowship.  Middle school and high school youth are involved in serving their church and community in many ways. For more information about Youth ministry programs at Mouzon, contact the church.
