Senior Adult Ministries

A service-minded group, Mouzon Movers (55+), enjoy fellowship at monthly dinners held at favorite local restaurants. They also plan several outings per year. Some recent destinations included: JAARS in Waxhaw, NC; Golden Isles of Georgia; Red, White and Blue Day in Selma, NC; Mt. Airy, Maryberry and Pilot Mountain, NC; and Niagara Falls Christmas Frozen Wonderland in Niagara Falls, Canada.

Some of the organizations supported by Mouzon Movers include: The Bethlehem Center, Soup Kitchen, Salvation Army, Operation Christmas Child, and the food pantry.

Mouzon Movers also supports church events and projects such as the Annual Bazaar, teaching Sunday school and Bible school, helping with the Youth, visiting the homebound, and more.

A big thanks to all of the Seniors who helped with the third Sunday night dinner.
The St. Luke Cloggers out on a really good show for all who attended.

The Seniors have several events coming up:

April 30th is our trip to the Barter Theater. The Bus will leave
the church on the Woodlawn side at 7:30a.m. Please be there by 7:15a.m.

May 13th we will be going to Atria Merywood for dinner and Bingo. The dinner
time is 5:30pm. and the cost is $3.00 per person.
Please remember to bring a can food for families on the West
Side of town. We will depart the church at 5:00pm from the Selwyn side.

May 15th: We will attend the Senior Scam Jam at Prichard Memorial Baptist Church.
1117 South Blvd. This event is free and will help us to understand how to better
deal with Telemarketing Fraud, Home Repair Fraud, Identity Theft, and Insurance
Fraud. The time is from 9:00am-l:00pm and refreshments will served. We will
leave the church from Selwyn Side at 8:30 a.m.

May 20th The Seniors will be going to Village Tavern for our monthly dining
out. Each month at our dinners we continue to average 30-45 in attendance.

May 30th: We will be going to Tennessee to attend the Loretta Lynn Concert and
her Ranch Tour. Time for departure will be given at a later date.

Stephen Ministry: Training classes will begin June 8th and will
continue to meet the 2nd and 4th Sunday's of each month. This is a 50
hour class and it is imperative to be in attendance at all classes. May the 18th
there will be an overview for the Stephen Ministry Classes and for those who
have signed up. Please out these dates on your calendar. Thanks to all who
want to be an important part of Stephen Ministry.
