PRESCHOOL STAFF

Preschool Director – Sally Swanson

How wonderful to be part of the staff at Mouzon United Methodist Church!   I grew up in Greenville, NC and went to UNC-Chapel Hill, where I met my husband Gary.  We have been in Charlotte over 28 years now, and we’ve been married 38 years.  We have two children, Michael and Sarah, who are both in their 20’s.  In my free time, I enjoy knitting, reading, and puzzles.

I’ve been a Preschool Director for 16 years now, and still love it!  My vision is to continue the school’s philosophy of being a loving, caring, and nurturing place for children, where we can provide a strong foundation for the spiritual, academic, and social growth of children.

Cherish your children—they grow up before you know it!  Lay good foundations of happy family times, and hopefully, you will enjoy every age and stage of their development.  I am so fortunate that in my family, we still relish doing so many things together, like attending sports events, travelling, game nights, late night conversations, movies.

One-year-old Teacher – Laura Trumbull

Hi, my name is Laura Trumbull, and I’m a Carolina Native.  I was born and raised in Greensboro, and moved to to Charlotte in 1985.  I am married to my wonderful husband Tony.  We have 3 lovely daughters, 3 grandchildren, and a grandson on the way.

I love children and working with them.  My journey with children began long ago in 1989 when I owned and operated an in-home preschool/after-school program for 10 years.  Following that, I worked with children at the YMCA, emphasizing fitness and nutrition.  I am certified through the YMCA in Early Childhood Education, Fitness, and Nutrition.

I am happy to come aboard at Mouzon and build on the knowledge and skills I have in working with your children.

Two-year-old Teacher – Jennifer Sullivan

My name is Jennifer Sullivan.  I am the mother to two awesome children.  My son Christian is 9-years-old.  My daughter Haven is 4-years-old, and attends preschool here at Mouzon.  I am an active member of our church, Cornerstone Family Worship, where I also teach Sunday school classes!

I have been blessed to follow my passion in life.  Teaching preschool has been such a rewarding career.  I started taking early childhood classes while still in high school and continued my education at Gaston College.  I have been fortunate enough to work with all ages – birth through after-school – throughout my career.  I have worked exclusively with two-year-olds for the past 14 years and have enjoyed every minute of it!  I have been at Mouzon two 1/2 years now!

Cindy recently moved here from California. She has been teaching preschool for the past 11 years, mostly in the three’s class. We are fortunate to have landed her as an addition to our staff!

Four-year-old Teacher – Robin Hall

I live in Mint Hill with my husband Byron and our 2 daughters, Skyler (19) who attends East Carolina University and Lacey (15) who is at Independence High School. I am originally from upstate NY and moved to Charlotte in 1999 and we couldn’t be happier.  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and some of my favorite things to do include reading, going on walks, and camping.

I have an A.A.S degree in Early Childhood Education from Cazenovia College and have worked with children since graduation.  I absolutely love what I do and do my best to give all the children the necessary tools to prepare them for kindergarten with love and encouragement.  I have been teaching at Mouzon three years now!

Jackie has been working with children since she was 15, and truly has a passion for it. She has worked with various ages, most recently with Three-year-olds. With her positive energy, she will be a wonderful addition to our staff!  Jackie will be working primarily in the Two’s and Three’s classrooms, and helping as needed in other areas.
