Church Outreach Program
Mouzon published a brochure titled "Got Struggles?" and canvassed the neighborhoods surrounding the church. We think it's important to let people know that no matter what problems a person may be experiencing, God can help. We encourage everyone to connect with a church for help with developing a closer relationship with God.

MISSIONS COMMITTEE UPDATE

A big thank you to all who helped prepare and serve our September dinner at the Charlotte Rescue Mission. Our summer suppers there were very well received, and we look forward to more of them next year.

Upcoming opportunities:

Sunday, October 1--Missions Fair in Flynn Hall, 9:45-11 a.m. (Come see and hear about missions we support. Representatives will be there to answer your questions.)

Monday, October 2--Missions Committee meeting, 7 p.m. in the library

Mid-October through Mid-November--Coat Drive for Crisis Assistance (Place gently used coats and jackets in designated container in Donut Hall.)

Sunday, October 15--CROP WALK (See Missions bulletin board or Ric Caponi to sign up.)

November--Shoeboxes for Samaritan's Purse (Fill boxes for children in war ravaged countries.)

December--Food drive for Loaves and Fishes (Place non-perishable food items in designated bin in Donut Hall)

December--Room-in-the-Inn season begins at Mouzon (Help in many ways to care for our homeless neighbors through the winter--sign up on the RITI bulletin board.)

"Cooking at the Mission" Dinner
Each quarter, Mouzon prepares and serves dinner at the Charlotte Rescue Mission. The most recent dinner fed a full house of 130 CRM guests a hot meal of chicken and dumplings, green beans, sliced tomatoes, carrots and celery, and chocolate or carrot cake. Dinner is served with a side helping of conversation, which gives guests the opportunity to share their personal stories of overcoming chemical dependencies with the love of Jesus Christ and the help of the CRM!

Prayer Opportunities:

Prayer Room: Our prayer room is open again 24/7. The reason it is now open is the generous gift given that helped us purchase a numbered key lock for the door. To access the prayer room, simply call the church office & ask for the access code.

8:30 Sunday Morning: We meet in the library to pray for the services, Sunday school time and all the activities that take place during the day.

9:30 Sunday morning: We meet in the library to pray for the concerns and needs of the church.

Room In The Inn
For many years, Mouzon UMC has participated in this important volunteer-driven ministry which provides a safe, warm place for Charlotte's homeless to stay for one night a week during the harsh Winter months.

We provide a warm meal that evening, breakfast the next morning and a bag lunch, as well as some conversation and hope.

Samaritan's Purse / Operation Christmas Child
For many years we have filled about 200 shoe boxes and dedicated them on Thanksgiving Eve. Following the service, we deliver the shoe boxes and volunteer at the Operation Christmas Child warehouse.

Loaves & Fishes
Food Drive

The "Loaves & Fishes" Food Drive is here. Drop off your filled bags in the Commons Area and Narthex. Non-perishable food items will be collected and donated to the Charlotte Loaves & Fishes for distribution to needy families here in our area. Priority needs at this time are canned fruit, 100% juice, pork and beans, peanut butter, canned meat, and soups.

Don't forget
the Mission Box!

Each week, funds collected from the Missions Box (located at the entrance to the sanctuary) is donated to a specific cause. The name of the recipient organization is printed in the weekly worship bulletin. Please remember to give what you can. Every little bit helps!
